Working for IEI, the building services arm of Kier Group, JET has installed an integrated frost protection solution.
LM Solutions, which is providing the warehousing and logistics solution to Ocado, required a solution which could take advantage of waste heat produced by the cold store chiller but with a backup heat source if required.
The JET solution provides two networked ductwork systems combining a direct gas fired AHU and a heat recovery unit. Working in unison the systems deliver conditioned air to the various areas through the ductwork distribution system located at 19m.
The system, which works almost entirely from the recovered heat, is extremely cost effective using little to no gas. The system has the additional feature of carbon dioxide sensors within the building permitting maximum efficiency through minimum fresh air input.
